I might get confused a bit since it's been a long long time since I played D2. And pretty sure that alone would get you above 20 if done on all difficulties. I'm not sure how accurate that is as I quit in 1.10 but since 1.10 you can't progress without killing the Ancients.
Was fun and the builds were cool and not something you'd use on a regular char. Is level 20 dueling not a thing any more? I know it used to be freaking awesome back in the day, you made your char really quickly but had to find the gear for them (shaftstop and rockstopper primarily) with others and needed someone to run you through all difficulties for extra stats, skill points and resists without going over level 20. One of my longest playthroughs was on a private server and i had to find almost every single rune i needed and i am still burned out from that :D This gets much slower after some point obviously, thats when i switch to a new build.
Since the core part of gameplay is continuously finding upgrades and getting stronger little by little. And i think this should be similar for most people. I don't get much fulfillment after i reach my full build as well.
